The International Network of Critical Ultrasound (INCUS) was formalized in 2010. In 2015 INCUS was Integrated as a World Academic Council of Emergency Medicine Initiative. Professor Dr. Sanjeev Bhoi was appointed the Head of INCUS Worldwide.
The Seventy-Second World Health Assembly in 2019, recognized that an integrated emergency care system (ECS) provides an effective platform for the delivery of accessible, quality and time-sensitive healthcare services for acute illnesses and injuries throughout the life-course.
The world is moving through an era of different paradigms of primary, secondary and tertiary care from developing to developed nations. The integrated model is the only way to achieve high quality, cost effective emergency care through multilateral, multilevel stakeholder engagement at a global level.
Access to diagnostic modalities such as computed tomography is limited across the globe. Point Of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) is using Ultrasound at the bedside for both diagnosis and therapeutics. POCUS Clinically focused, goal directed, reproducible and effective in emergency critical patients.
POCUS saves lives of patients across specialties of trauma care, emergency medicine, critical care, emergency cardiology and musculoskeletal medicine.
INCUS is a Coalition of Academic Leaders across the World with a focus on developing the Science and Innovation in the Field of Acute Care Sonography in Emergency and Critical Medicine.
INCUS is led by Experts from Europe, Middle East, Asia and The United States. Today INCUS has become a platform for collaborative research, education and development across the Academic World.
